COVENANT REPRESENTATIVES

FOUNDATION STATEMENT: We are representatives of the New Covenant in the Earth

I. The fact that we are covenant people with almighty God should be undeniable

A. We are covenant people and the world should know it

1. God hid the mark of the covenant so people wouldn’t show it off.  His plan was that the world would know God’s covenant people by the wealth, prosperity, and victory that they walked in, not by the mark on their skin (Genesis 17:10)

a. Genesis 39:2-3 – He knew God was with Joseph because he saw that everything Joseph did prospered

b. 1 Sam 17:46 – All the Earth will know that there is a God in Israel

2. Jesus said that the world know us because we love one another and when we love one another we will see that prosperity that defines us as covenant people (John 13:34)

a. Matthew 5:14-16 – A city on a hill

B. As believers we’ve missed out on this excessive life because we’ve had no understanding of covenant, no understanding of God’s love, no understanding of God’s will for His covenant people, and no understanding of God’s plan to win the world.

1. Genesis 12:1-4, 13:2, Hebrews 6:14, Proverbs 10:22 – Being rich is part of the covenant

2. That promise was to Abraham and his seed (Genesis 17:7-10)

3. That promise was made to Abraham and Jesus (Galatians 3:13-17)

4. We are heirs according to the promise (Galatians 3:29)

5. Covenant Love is God totally giving Himself over to us and becoming one with us and withholding nothing from us (Romans 8:32, Matthew 7:11)

II. God’s will for covenant people

A. God wants to take his covenant people so high that it will be undeniable by the world (Deuteronomy 7:14)

1. Thou – Israel, Covenant people

2. God wants to use us to show the world who He is (John 14:10)

B. Why has receiving God’s best been such a tough pill to swallow for religion?

1. We’ve settled for the status quo when God has wanted so much more for us

2. Am I not in covenant with almighty God?  Am I not God’s covenant son?  Am I not a joint-heir with Jesus?

3. People draw back when we start talking about receiving God’s best because they lack understanding of the love of God and they lack understanding of God’s love because they don’t understand covenant

C. The Children of Israel; why didn’t they go in? – Numbers 13

1. 1-Here’s God wanting to take them into a the best life

2. 30-Caleb simply says what God said and preaches something that is unacceptable to the flesh

3. 31-33-The resisted God’s blessing because they wouldn’t believe what He said

4. 14:7-10-They got mad and rejected the word of God because they had never heard anything like that before

5. Mark 9:23 – To do something that you’ve never done before, you’re going to have to believe something that you’ve never believed before

6. Romans 10:17 – To believe something that you’ve never believed before you’re going to have to hear something that you’ve never heard before

D. Am I not in covenant with Almighty God? (Luke 13:10)

1. Daughter of Abraham – In covenant with God

a. It is absurd to think that  woman who is in covenant with God should remain sick

b. Why shouldn’t we be the most blessed, the most prosperous, the most healed, and the most victorious?  Are we not in covenant with almighty God? 

III. We are ambassadors for Christ and of the New Covenant (2 Cor 5:20)

A. Ambassadors – Representatives from another government to represent it on behalf of our king

1. Ambassador – 1: an official envoy; a diplomatic agent of the highest rank accredited to a foreign government or sovereign as the resident representative of his or her own government or sovereign or appointed for a special and often temporary diplomatic assignment 2 a: an authorized representative or messenger

B. The problem is we’ve tried to represent someone who we don’t even know

1. Jesus was rich; Jesus was a winner and a fighter; Jesus walked in authority; Jesus didn’t tolerate lack, sickness, or death

C. Truths about ambassadors

1. Ambassadors don’t live like the place they are sent to

a. Just because your in a place doesn’t mean that you have to live like the people who live there

b. Ambassadors don’t get what they need from the country that they are in, they get what the need from the country that sent them

2. Ambassadors don’t look normal, don’t talk normal, and don’t act normal to the people that they are around

IV. God’s plan for His ambassadors (John 17:15-18)

A. 14-You are as much of God as Jesus is  

B. 15-We can be in a place, but not subject to the evil that is in the place

1. It is the will of God that we live free and be kept from all evil -Jesus prayed this

2. There is work that has to be done on the Earth, and Jesus knew that.  He knew that we couldn’t all just leave, so he prayed that while we are here on our ambassador assignment from heaven that we be kept from evil.

C. 16-They are not of the world, they are on official Kingdom business

D. 17-Sanctify – Set them apart

1. These ones that I’m sending got no business getting the result the world gets 

2. We are set apart from the world through the covenant promises

a. The word, New Covenant will set you apart

3. I’m an ambassador and I should be set apart from the world

E. 18-The way that Jesus was sent in the world is the way that we are sent in the world

1. We have be sent as ambassadors of the New Covenant and the Kingdom of God into the world, equipped the same way that Jesus was equipped when God sent him into the world

a. Did Jesus lack power? No---Did Jesus lack money? No---Did Jesus lack healing? No---Did Jesus lack authority? No---Did Jesus lack miracles? No

2. John 10:25 – He was sent in the name of the Father

a. We’ve been sent in the name of Jesus (Mark 15,Philippians 2:9)

F. 2 Corinthians 5 – This whole thing is talking about representing Jesus and winning the world

1. God was in Christ reconciling the world unto him and he did it through preaching, prospering, and walking in the power and authority of God

2. God is now in us and desiring to win the world through us and He will be able to do so when we properly represent His covenant with us – John 14:10

3. The ministry of reconciliation – God’s not mad at you and holding your mistakes against you the same way he’s blessed me He’ll bless you and you can walk in the same authority that I walk in

V. How do you win the world?

A. Romans 8:19 – The world is waiting for the sons of God to show up

B. Deuteronomy 8:18 – He gave us the power to prosper excessively in every area of our lives so that He could establish His covenant on the Earth and win the world

1. Establishing the covenant is seeing that covenant working, operating, and functioning effectively and efficiently on the Earth in the lives of believers

2. It’s God’s will and desire to establish His covenant on the Earth

C. You exercise your covenant and allow the prosperity of God to absolutely bust at the seems in your life and be the most healed, the most prosperous, the most victorious, the most blessed, allowing the world to see God’s covenant Love in your life

1. When you accurately represent your covenant winning the world will simply be the by product
