THE LAW OF FAITH
FOUNDATION STATEMENT: Faith is a spiritual law and when the principles of it are applied it will produce victory in your life every time all of the time no matter what.
Foundation Scripture: Romans 3:27
I. Faith is a law, that will work for you every time when the principles of it are applied (Romans 3:27)
A. A law is something that will produce the same results every time all the time no matter what as long as the principles of that law are applied
1. A law is something that has a predictable outcome all of the time
a. If a person abides by certain principles there is a predetermined outcome
b. You're not going to apply the principles of a law and get inconsistent results
c. EXAMPLE: Gravity - you're not going to jump off of a building and float one time and fall the other
2. The only prerequisite for a law to work is that the principles must be applied
a. The Law of Lift - Thrust over drag = lift
i. If thrust isn't there and drag is you cannot fly
ii. If drag isn't there and thrust is you cannot fly
b. For a law to work all the principles of that law must be applied
B. Faith is the spiritual law that God has given to believers to overcome any situation and any circumstance in the world no matter how impossible it may look. Faith is a spiritual law that will produce victory every time, all of the time, no matter what. (1 John 5:4)
1. When you apply the principles of the law of faith the predetermined outcome of the law of faith is victory
a. You're not going to apply the principles of the law of faith and see defeat
b. The outcome has already been determined that when you live by faith you win
c. When the principles of the law of faith are applied, it will produce victory every time
d. The Law of Faith is the Law of Victory
2. There is a law that God has set into motion that will overpower and override natural law and cause the believer to be victorious every time
a. Natural laws tell you that you cannot do and cannot be certain things under certain conditions, but Spiritual law will override that and you will no longer be subject to natural law
b. EXAMPLE: We will use the law of gravity as natural law, and the law of life as spiritual law. Gravity works until somebody releases the principles of the law of lift, and then gravity is still working, but the law of lift has overpowered the law of gravity. That airplane is not subject to gravity, because laws have been applied that overrode gravity.
c. Laws are designed to work when the principles are applied under any conditioned
i. Laws are not subject to conditions
ii. A law is no matter what the conditions are when I apply these principles I get this result
iii. Laws are no respecter of person or conditions
d. A law is when you apply the principles that activate me, I'm going to produce the result that I was created to produce every time
e. Natural is will work when the principles of that law are applied and produce a result; so you have to activated spiritual law that will suspend the natural law
i. Natural didn't stop working, it's still working, but it's not effecting you because you suspended by activating a law that will overrode it
ii. Natural law is still working and if you deactivate the spiritual law by not continuing to apply the principles, the natural law will go right back to work effecting you
iii. But just like the law of gravity has no say when the law of lift is motion natural law has no say when the law of faith is in motion; gravity has to shut up in the presence of the law of lift and natural law has to shut up in the presence of the law of faith
3. Faith will only fail to produce the result of victory when the principles aren't applied
C. As a believer if you can learn how to activate the law of faith you can overcome and accomplish anything
1. Mark 9:23 - If you can believe all things are possible
2. If you can apply the law of faith nothing will be impossible for you
II. The foundation principle to the law of faith is that you have to believe that you receive what you're desiring before you can see the physical manifestation of it (Mark 11:23)
A. To have things that you desire, you must believe that you receive them, before you have them
1. If you wait to believe that your receive until it shows up, it will never show up
2. The law of faith is what brings the thing that you can't see out of the realm where you can't see it into the realm where you can see it
3. EXAMPLE: If you're waiting for the money to show up, to believe you're a millionaire the money will never show up, you must believe that you have it right now
B. Faith isn't trying to becoming something that you aren't, it's walking in what you already are
1. When you got born again, God created you with everything that you would need to have and enjoy life on this Earth (John 10:10)
a. James 1:21-26 - Like a mirror the Bible doesn't reflect back to you what you're going to be it reflects back to you what you are
i. 1 Peter 2:24 - You are healed today
ii. 2 Corinthians 8:9 - You are rich today
iii. Romans 6:22 - You are free from sin today
iv. 2 Corinthians 5:20 - You are the righteousness of God
v. Galatians 3:13 - Jesus has redeemed you or taken you out of everything that came on the Earth when Adam sinned
b. 1 John 4:17 - If you want to find out more about who you are right now according to the Word of God, then identify with who Jesus is right now
i. 2 Peter 1:3
ii. Ephesians 1:3
iii. Romans 5:5
2. When you believe these things about yourself or in other words agree with the word of God that's when these things can come to pass in your life
a. You say I can't agree with these things, because I don't see them
b. It's agreeing with the word of God or believing the Word of God when you can't see it that's going to make it so you can see it in the physical realm
c. EXAMPLE: God called Abraham the father of many nations before he had one kid and Abraham's faith or agreement with that is what brought it into the physical realm
C. If you believed you received then your words and your actions are in line with the Word of God even when the Word of God doesn't look to be true
1. 1 Samuel 17:36-37 - David received the victory before the fight even started
2. Daniel 3:17 - They received their deliverance and were delivered from the fire before they got thrown in
3. Joshua 6:16,20 - The walls didn't fall down before they shouted, they fell down after they shouted
III. The second principle of the law of faith is that it (faith) comes only by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17)
A. Faith comes no other way, but by hearing the word of God
1. Faith doesn't come by trials and tribulations, what you do in the trials and tribulations to exercise your faith can cause your faith to be developed, but faith only comes by hearing the word of God
a. If trials and tribulations cause faith to come everybody would be a faith giant
b. Doing the right thing in the trial and tribulation will be an act of faith and the reason you acted in faith in the trial is because at some point you heard the word
B. The only way that you are going to believe that you are what God's word says you are when you can't see it, is by hearing the word of God over and over again
1. How do I believe I am what God says I am when I can't see it?
a. Believe or faith will come as you hear the word of God
i. The more times that you hear the word on your financial prosperity, that will produce faith that you're already prosperous
ii. The more times that you hear the Word on healing, that will produce faith that you're already healed
C. Hearing the Word of God will destroy that old image of unbelief in your heart and produce a new image of faith that is in line with God's Word
1. EXAMPLE: You might see yourself right now as broke or middle class. That's what you see, that's what you believe, and that's what you have. That's unbelief because you are believing something that God didn't say. God never said you were poor and He never called you middle class. You have an image of unbelief. As you spend time hearing the word on financial prosperity it will produce a new belief or a new image on the inside of you and you will begin to see yourself as a prosperous person, you'll believe you're prosperous, and prosperity will show up in the physical world.
2. We have this idea that believing of faith is just something we can do right now. You can make the on purpose decision to believe, but it takes time in the word to build real faith in your heart.
a. Faith that works is faith that is totally convinced that word of God is true and so and no matter what the circumstances are you can't get real faith to believe anything other than what the Bible says.
D. There's two purposes then for me to speak the word of God out of my mouth:
1. To build faith in my heart
2. To release the power of God out my mouth and move the mountain
IV. The third principle to the law of faith is that it works by love (Galatians 5:6)
A. Faith that is not working by love lacks the power necessary to produce victory in your life
1. Love is the power that energizes faith and enables faith to bring victory and deliverance to you no matter what the situation is
B. If love isn't working faith isn't working and if faith isn't working you can't walk in victory
1. EXAMPLE: Car works by gas. I don't care what kind of engine you have under the hood or how good the body looks without gas that car isn't going anywhere
2. I don't care what you're saying out your mouth, how many times you're saying it, or what you say you're in faith for because without love faith profits you nothing
V. The law of faith will produce victory every time when:
A. 1) You believe you receive
B. 2) Hear the word
C. 3) Walk in love
