SETTING YOUR BELIEF THROUGH YOUR CONFESSION

The Process of Faith (Part 5)

FOUNDATION STATEMENT: There are two purposes in speaking the Word of God out of your mouth.  The first purpose is to build faith in your heart, and the second purpose is to release the power of God to change physical things.  As a believer if your words are going to change physical things, then you first of all, have to use your words to set your belief in agreement with the Word of God.

Foundation Scripture: Luke 17:6, Mark 11:23

I. Introduction to Speaking Words

A.  Luke 17:6 – Jesus is talking about the process of speaking words out of your mouth and having your words effect physical things; that the physical thing that you’re speaking to would line up and obey your words.

1. Only words that are spoken and believed will effect physical things

a. Physical things will obey words that are spoken in faith

b. The physical thing is obeying the person who is believing and speaking

2. Jesus didn’t say you would say unto God, He said you might say to the tree

3. The law of double reference is that Jesus is talking about speaking words to effect physical things, but he’s also talking about using words to root up that tree that is in you

B. Mark 11:23 – Verily - a formula of solemn expression of certainty

1. What I’m going to say to your mind is not going to sound humanly comprehendible

a. Matthew 13:10-11 – This is a mystery

2. Jesus Christ is the one who said this

a. People have yet to make the connection between what they say and what they have in life

C. Matthew 17:20 – There is no task that cannot be accomplished by believing and speaking

1. We’re talking about the release of God’s power

II. If what you say is going to be powerful and effect the physical realm then you

have to believe and speak (Mark 11:23)

A. You have to have faith and then speak the Word for that word to come to pass

1. Many of us have said some things, but have had no faith to back up what we were saying and consequently what we were saying didn’t affect the physical realm

B. The divine order of change is that the inside has to change before the outside changes

1. Matthew 12:33-35

a. You don’t make that tree good by just picking the evil fruit off, you have to make the inside of that tree God

b. If you want to bring forth good things then you have to put good things inside

2.  Matthew 23:25-26

a. If the outside is going to change then you have to get a change inside first

3. We’ve wanted to our words to effect the outside physical things, but we haven’t committed to the process of using our words first of all to change the inside

a. The first thing that your words do when you speak them is they effect the inside of you

C. Faith is an uncompromising stand that you believe that God’s Word is so, and it is true, and no one can talk you out of it

1. Nearly every person in here would say they are already like that, but in time your words, your thoughts, and your actions will reveal to us what you believe.

2. You have to be completely and totally convinced that God’s Word is true and it is so, and then when you say it, it will affect physical things

3. Mark 11:23 – Jesus said you could have what you say, when you believed and spoke

a. Speaking alone will not be enough, you have to believe

D. You have to say and believe for what you say to effect the physical realm

1. Words are powerful enough to change the situation when they are backed by

    faith

2. Luke 17:6 – Jesus said if you had faith/the right image/you believed, you would

speak words and those words would change the situation

III. There is divine order in speaking the Word of God, that if you want to speak

the Word of God and see that Word come to pass in your life, then you first of

all have to speak that Word to set your belief in agreement with that Word.

       (Luke 17:5)

 A. There is an image or belief on the inside all of us and that image or belief is the boundary for our lives and our lives are a reproduction of that image.

            1. Your belief has trapped you in a way of life; it’s trapped you where you are, it’s

trapped you in what you have, and it’s trapped you in what you’re doing; it’s

worked to keep you from God’s best

  B. That belief has to be reset to line up with the Word of God and it is reset by speaking the Word of God out of our mouths.

1. That belief in your heart is created and destroyed by words

2. If there is a belief in you that is in opposition to the Word of God then it has been built from hearing words that are in opposition to the Word of God

a. Numbers 13 – These fools listened to the evil report and those words built an image or belief in them that said they couldn’t go into the promise land

i. They spoke the evil report

3. That image or belief in your heart is like a tree and the fruit of that tree is the results that you’ve been getting in your life (Matthew 12:33-37)

a. If you want the results to be different then make the tree good by planting a different Word seed

i. Reset that belief by sowing different Word seeds into your heart

ii. If words are seeds then saying is sowing

 4. Stop using your mouth to talk, and start using your mouth to sow

a. Stop seeing your tongue as a tool to transmit information and start seeing it as a tool to deposit revelation

i. I no longer use my tongue to transmit information to some sinner so he or

   she won’t think I’m crazy

 b. I’m not speaking with my tongue.  I’m sowing with my tongue

i. The tongue is the tool that I use to deposit the Word of God into my

   heart

  C. Faith does not come any other way, but by hearing the Word of God and if your

belief is going to be reset to line up with the Word of God then you have to hear

the Word of God (Romans 10:17)

 1. That’s spiritual law; that when the Word is being heard faith is coming

 2. Ultimately the amount of time that you spend hearing the Word of God will be in

direct correlation to what you receive in life

a. As you spend time in the Word of God your ability to receive the

manifestation of the promise of God will grow in your life

b. If you’re having a hard time receiving, check your Word level

  D. Through the law of meditation and the law of confession you can change what you

       believe (Joshua 1:8)

 1. Meditate (haga) – To utter a sound, to mutter, the act of thoughtful deliberation

with the implication of speaking to one’s self, speak, talk

     a. We are not just babbling scriptures, this is thoughtful deliberation by speaking

the Word out of your mouth

 2. Speak that Word out of your mouth day and night

a. When you deliberately, on purpose, thoughtfully speak the Word of God out

of your mouth, it will change what you believe and ultimately change your life

  E. You sow the Word of God into your heart and change what you believe by seeing the Word with your eyes, hearing it with your ears, and mostly by speaking it out of your mouth (Proverbs 4:20)

1. When you are giving your attention to the Word of God by hearing it, seeing it,

and saying it, those Words will take root in your heart

2. You guard your heart with the Words that you speak out of your mouth

    a. You must guard your heart and stop allowing word seeds to take root in there

that you don’t want to harvest in your life

    b. Do your hearing by the Word of God because every word that you hear is a

seed and has the potential to take root in your heart, produce a belief and

ultimately manifest in your life (Romans 10:17)

IV. You use your words to reset that belief in your heart before you ever use your

       words to change physical things

A. You might not believe what you’re saying at first, but that’s why you are saying it so

that you can produce a belief

1. Some people have called this vain repetitions or ritualistic (Matthew 6:7)

    a. God heard me the first time I confessed, “I am rich.”  I’m not saying it over

and over again because I didn’t think he heard me and I’m not even saying it

over and over again for His benefit.  I’m saying it over and over again for my

benefit because I need to reset my belief to be in line with this because I’m

        supposed to be a believer.

     b. I didn’t call it vain repetition when you said you’re sick 500 times the last time

         you got a cold.

B. Calling those things that be not as though they are is the way to root out the old

belief and establish and new belief and faith in the Word of God (Romans 4:17)

1. It may be not in the natural, but I am calling it like it is to change what I believe,

    and then it will be

    a. By exercising this principle, you are releasing the power to get rid of the old

image and to establish a new image in your heart

     b. By calling what is, you are just establishing your current circumstances in your

life by establishing that image of what “is”

 C. The belief that I have in my heart is determined by what I’m saying out of my mouth

1. When you speak the evil report and say something that God didn’t say you

     deceive your heart (James 1:26)

a. Your heart is cheated and tricked into believing something that’s not the truth

b. Your heart doesn’t know why you would want what you’re saying in your

     life.  It’s deceived

  2. You don’t wait until you believe something to say it; if you do that you’ll never

       believe it

a. You say it right now.  You may not believe a word that’s coming out of your

mouth, but every time you’re saying it faith is coming and pretty soon you’ll

believe it because faith comes by hearing the Word

  D. Holding fast to your confession of faith (Hebrews 4:14, 10:23)

 1. Don’t hold fast to your circumstances or your feelings, hold fast to your

confession of faith and right in the face of attack just keep speaking that Word

     out of your mouth

V. The Heart – Mouth Connection: Whatever is in your mouth is going to

produce an image in your heart, and whatever image you have in your heart is

going to come out of your mouth in words and create your life

A. Whatever you have in your heart has been coming out of your mouth and

     determining your life (Matthew 12:33-37)

1. You are bringing forth the things in your life by the words that you believe in your

heart and speak out of your mouth

2. The words that are coming out of your mouth are a result of what you’ve

    deposited in your heart

     a. You’re saying it because you believe it and according to Jesus what you

believe and what you say will determine what you bring forth in life

   B. Your words can produce death or life, blessings or cursings, sickness or health,

lack or abundance, poverty or prosperity, victory or defeat

  1. By your words you are made right or freed from sickness, death, poverty, and defeat and by your words you can be condemned to sickness, poverty, lack and death

VI. Speaking words doesn’t become powerful enough to change the outside, until it

has reset what you believe (the tree) inside to line up with the Word of God

A. When you’ve taken the time to set your belief/create the image in your heart by confessing the Word, then that faith that you have in your heart will activate the power that’s on the Word of God (Romans 1:16)

1. Then when you release words that are in line with God’s Word they will have the

power on them to bring themselves to pass

2. When I believe, the power of God’s Word is activated and then when I speak

faith filled words out of my mouth they will have the power to change the

     situation

  B. To speak the Word without faith is to speak the Word without the necessary

equipment to activate the power and see results in your life
