FAITH: THE ABILITY OF THE BEILEVER

FOUNDATION STATEMENT: Believers are limited to what they can accomplish on this Earth, by what they believe.  The ability of a believer to do or not do in this Earth is not based on his strength, his might, or his power as a natural man, it’s based on his ability to believe.

I.  As a believer what you can accomplish on this Earth is not limited by your ability as a man, what you can accomplish on this Earth is limited by your ability to believe (Mark 9:23)

A. Faith is the force that qualifies a thing as possible or impossible

1.  It’s not the size of the task the qualifies the task as being impossible; it’s qualified as possible or impossible by what you believe

2.  Faith will take the “impossible” and make it possible

a. There is an ability that comes on a person who lives by faith, that will enable that person to do something that he could not do before

B.  The scale of possibility in your life right now has been set by your faith

1.  What you’re accomplishing right now in life is a direct reflection of the faith that you have in your heart

a. The limit for what you can do and what you can have in life has been set by what you believe.

2.  If you will reset what you believe in your heart, the scale of possibility in your life will be enlarged and consequently you’ll be able to have some things that you couldn’t have before and do some things that you couldn’t do before

C. The task being accomplished is not based on how big the task is, it’s based on how big your faith is, because no matter how big the task is, if you can believe it can be accomplished

1.  The size of the task is no longer an issue; the only issue now is your faith

2.  The scale of possibility is not set by the size of the task, it’s set by your faith

3.  The problem is no longer the problem because if you can believe all things are possible

D. Nobody can stop you, but you because if you can believe all things are possible

1.  You’re not bound by the circumstances of your life, you’re bound by what you believe in your heart

2.  It’s not what’s going on outside of you that is stopping you, it’s what’s inside of you that’s stopping you

3.  Satan has trained us through religion to make excuses why we can’t have God’s best and religion makes the word of God of none effect

4.  You will rise and fall to the level of your faith

II. Unbelief is the force that keeps the believer bound and makes things in his life impossible

A. Matthew 17:14-21

1.  The disciples question was, “What hindered us from getting accomplishing this task?”

a. What kept us from doing what you could do?

2.  Jesus is revealing to them that faith is the force that qualifies a thing as possible or impossible

a. Their unbelief kept them from getting the result that Jesus got

b. The outside wasn’t keeping them from accomplishing the task it was the unbelief in their heart

c. It wasn’t that the devil was too big, it was that their faith was too small

3.  The devil wasn’t the problem it was their unbelief

a. Was it possible for that Devil to be cast out of that boy? Yes. How come it was “impossible” for the disciples? Because they didn’t believe.

b. Unbelief made that task impossible for the disciples

B.  Numbers 13:24

1.  The children of Israel couldn’t go into the promise land because of their unbelief (Hebrews 3:7-19)

a. Their unbelief shut them out (AMP)

1)   Unbelief kept them bound and made inhering the promise land impossible

b. They thought the giants, the walled cities, and the people dwelling in the land was keeping them from going into the promise land, but it was their unbelief

2.  It wasn’t that the giants were too big, it’s that their faith was too small

a. Was it possible to posses that promise land? Yes, Joshua and Caleb ended up possessing it.  How come the children of Israel never possessed it?  It wasn’t because of the giants or the walled-cities; it was because of their unbelief.

3.  Joshua 14:7,10 – They couldn’t keep Joshua can Caleb out

a. No one can stop your progress, but you

b. God has established it, so that no one else can determine your future but you

C. Matthew 14:24-31

1.  When Peter acted in faith he was able to do something that was impossible for a natural man to do

a. Walking on water became possible when Peter believed

2.  The moment that he operated in unbelief what was possible for him when operated in faith, became impossible because of his unbelief

a. Peter didn’t fall because of the wind or the waves, he fell because of he withdrew is faith

b. EXAMPLE: That situation in your life isn’t powerful enough to keep you down unless faith is withdrawn or never applied.  If you’ll apply faith to the situation you’re in right now, it doesn’t matter how impossible it may look, you can accomplish the impossible as long as you keep faith on the scene.

III.The size of your faith is enhanced or limited by the amount of time you spend hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17)

A. Your faith will never exceed the amount of the time that you spend in the word of God and your ability as a believer will never exceed the amount of faith that you have in your heart

1.  You’re not going to go any further than your ability to believe

a. The more word you hear = The more faith you have --- The more faith you have = The more you can do

1)   No word = No faith --- No faith = No ability --- No ability = Not results

B.  What you can’t believe is simply the result of the word that you have refused to hear and receive

1.  This is spiritual law: Faith comes be hearing and hearing by the word of God

a. A law is something that works every time you apply the principles to make it work

1)   When you apply the principle of hearing the word, faith comes

2.  When you are hearing the word faith is coming and when faith is coming your ability as a believer is rising

a. As a believer you are limited to what you can do, by the amount of time you spend hearing God’s word

3.  Unbelief comes by hearing the words of Satan

a. When spend time listening the evil report, your ability as a believer dwindles

1)   Numbers 13 – They attended to the evil report, it produced unbelief in their heart and kept them from the promise land.  They refused to hear and attend to the Word of God.

2)   Matthew 14 – Peter attended to the wind and the waves it produced unbelief in his heart and kept him from succeeding

5.  The scale of possibility in you life is reset as you spend time hearing the word of God

a. Unbelief will be driven out as you spend time in the Word and consequently your ability as a believer will rise

C. Romans 12:3 – Every born-again child of God has been dealt the measure of faith

1.  As you spend time hearing the word, that measure will grow and develop on the inside of you and as that measure of faith grows the measure of your ability as a believer grows

2.  2 Thessalonians 3:2 – People who aren’t born again don’t have faith

D. Mark 5:25 – The woman with the issue of blood heard the word, faith came, and what was impossible in the world’s system was made possible by her faith

1.  For 12 years this woman had done everything that she possibly knew to do in this world’s system and couldn’t get healed

a. The world didn’t have the necessary ability to heal her body

2.  She heard of Jesus and she must have heard the Word on Jesus healing the sick because faith rose in her heart to receive healing

3.  Jesus said to her, your faith made this possible; Not my power, your faith

a. Because you believed, that’s why you’re whole

4.  What she couldn’t get done in 12 years and what must have looked impossible to her became possible when faith was produced in here heart by hearing the word of God

a. Things in her life were being accomplished that were not being accomplished before because she heard and believed the word of God and faith took the impossible and made it possible

IV.As a believer you are not limited to the environment around you, you are limited by the faith in your heart

A. It’s not what’s happening outside in your life that’s stopping your from walking in God’s provision, it’s the unbelief in your heart

1.  The small salary is not keeping you from prospering, the amount of money you owe is not keeping you from walking free from debt, and the sickness on your body is not keeping you from being healed, it’s the unbelief in your heart because if you can believe all things are possible

B.  Your problem is not outside, it’s in your heart because if you can believe all things are possible

1.  All you have to do is change what you believe and you can change your life
