FAITH IN THE FATHER'S LOVE
FOUNDATION STATEMENT: Faith in God is faith in the Father's love towards you. As a believer when you get a revelation of the Father's, love it will take your faith to new heights and new levels because you know that God loves you and He is faithful to His Word.
I. God's love for you is unconditional and it is limitless
A. God's love for you doesn't start with your obedience nor does it end with your disobedience (Romans 5:6-11)
1. Romans 5:6-10 (Message) - Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn't, and doesn't wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn't been so weak, we wouldn't have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him. Now that we are set right with God by means of this sacrificial death, the consummate blood sacrifice, there is no longer a question of being at odds with God in any way. If, when we were at our worst, we were put on friendly terms with God by the sacrificial death of his Son, now that we're at our best, just think of how our lives will expand and deepen by means of his resurrection life! Now that we have actually received this amazing friendship with God, we are no longer content to simply say it in plodding prose. We sing and shout our praises to God through Jesus the Messiah!
2. You would have a hard time finding people who will die for a righteous man
a. It would be something out of the ordinary for someone to die for a righteous man, but for a good man some would die and with good reason
3. But God loved us so much that when we were unrighteous and against Him, He sent Jesus to die for us
a. His love for us didn't begin when you started obeying Him
4. If God sent his only Son to die for us when we were sinners or enemies against God, how much will He do for us now that we are His children
a. MUCH MORE now that we are justified
5. If God did all that to keep you protected when you were against Him, how much will He do to keep you protected now that you're with Him
a. You can't be more saved (spiritually) now that you are saved spiritually
b. He's talking about salvation from the things that work in this physical world
c. 11-All of this causes us to have great joy!
